NASM launches corrective exercise training course
Personal training provider and assessor National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) has launched a course on corrective exercise.
The NASM Essentials of Corrective Exercise Training will include systems and solutions needed to assist clients with movement impairments, muscle imbalances and those recovering from injury.
NASM is hoping to tap into the increasing need for health and fitness staff to be trained in corrective exercise training.
Micheal Clark, NASM's CEO quotes figures which show that nearly 80 per cent of adults suffer from lower-back pain while ankle sprains are reported to be the most common sports-related injury.
"All health and fitness professionals can benefit from corrective exercise training," Clark said.
"The injury prevention, reconditioning and movement preparation expertise gained from CEx will greatly benefit any one dedicated to helping people move better, feel better and live healthier lives."
The course is geared towards a variety 'human-movement professionals', such as athletic trainers, chiropractors, licensed massage therapists, personal trainers, physical therapists and strength and conditioning coaches.
