Nationwide first to receive Count Me In award
Nationwide building society has become the first organisation to receive the English Federation of Disability Sport’s (EFDS) Count Me In award, in recognition of its support of disability sport.
Nationwide recently became the main sponsor of Disability Sport Events (DSE) – the events division of EFDS – in a deal worth £1m over the next seven years.
The Count Me In award was launched this year to recognise excellence in helping widen participation among disabled people.
Nationwide’s media relations manager Jennifer Williams said: "We are absolutely delighted and very proud to receive the Count Me In award. Our five-year partnership with Disability Sport Events gave athletes at grass roots level the opportunity to participate and to develop their skills.
“We are now opening a new chapter, working with DSE towards Beijing and London to create champions together."
