New Novotel hotel for Paddington
By Caroline Wilkinson
A new four-star Novotel hotel will open on 29 September in Paddington, London, as part of the second phase of a three-part mixed-use development called PaddingtonCentral.
The development is part of an 80-acre regeneration project for the area, which began in 1998 and is being led by Paddington Waterside Partnership.
The second phase of PaddingtonCentral, being built on Kingdom Street, is a joint venture between Development Securities, Morley Fund Management and Union Investment.
The hotel, to be operated by Accor Group, is designed by Dexter Moren Architects in conjunction with Kohn Pedersen Fox and will join the nearby Hilton London Metropole and the Hilton London Paddington, both part of the Paddington Waterside project.
The 206-bedroom Novotel hotel will include a 180 cover Elements restaurant, a bar and conference facilities as well as a swimming pool, a sauna and fitness suite.
The first phase of the development was designed by architects Sidell Gibson and was set around Sheldon Square. It included an amphitheatre, a Cannons Health Club, cafés, bars and restaurants
