New Simon Rimmer restaurant opens
Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer has opened a £200,000 restaurant in Hale, Cheshire, called Earle.
The Something for the Weekend presenter opened Earle as part of a joint venture with his wife, Alison MacRae, football agent David Lockwood and Tranmere Rovers player/coach, Jason McAteer.
Rimmer appointed Manchester-based Rawfish Design Consultants to manage the development of the 1,000sq ft (93sq m) property.
Work took seven weeks and Earle is decorated in stone and coffee colours, with reclaimed French chandeliers and Bohemian gilt-framed mirrors.
White circular mosaics were used for the floor, bar and wall finishes and the candlelit bar area features sandblasted brickwork.
Rimmer – who released two cookery books this year – also co-owns Greens, a vegetarian restaurant in West Didsbury, Manchester, which opened in 1990.
