New anti-touting measures in place for Glastonbury
Organisers of the Glastonbury Festival are introducing a new pre-sale registration system to cut down on ticket touting for this year’s event.
Anyone wanting to buy a ticket for the festival, to be held on 22-24 June, must register their details – including contact details and a passport-sized photo – either online or by post.
The tickets, which will go on sale 1 April, will feature a photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-exchangeable.
The festival’s organiser, Michael Eavis, said: “It’s a much fairer system. It means unscrupulous people won’t be able to sell their tickets on for a profit. The people who buy the tickets in April will be the people who are actually coming to the festival.”
Registration must take place between 1 and 28 February. Details: www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk
