Sam Nayar, the owner of the Escape boutique hotel in Llandudno, North Wales, has been appointed to chair the Destination Conwy steering group.

The group has been established from the Destination Conwy Forum, which was set up in November and represents the local tourism trade. Sector representatives and advisers from the heritage, outdoors and attractions industries also comprise the group, which aims to help grow tourism in Conwy.

Nayar said: "We can adopt a more coordinated approach to make the area a fantastic place to visit and to live and prosper and to sell its benefits much more strongly than we currently do."
