New fitness facility to launch in Spennymoor
A new fitness suite is set to be unveiled by Durham County Council (DCC) at Spennymoor Leisure Centre this weekend (30-31 July), following a major £1.5m redevelopment.
Private sector company Competition Line has provided the funding for the scheme, which is working in conjunction with DCC on the delivery of the new facilities. More than 100 pieces of Life Fitness equipment have been installed across two floors, such as a vibration plate; a large free weights area; and a spinning studio.
DCC strategic manager for indoor leisure Steve Lister said: "[The fitness suite] now offers a truly impressive range of opportunities to help residents get fit and stay healthy. "This investment from Competition Line is a terrific example of public/private sector partnership benefiting our communities."
