New floodlights for Darrick Wood Sports Centre
Leisure trust Bromley MyTime has installed new floodlights at Darrick Wood Sports Centre in a £60,000 partnership with London Borough of Bromley, Darrick Wood School and the Football Foundation, which provided £20,000.
The lights were switched on at a ceremony attended by former Chelsea and Celtic footballer, Paul Elliot.
Steve Price, Bromley Mytime chief executive, said: “Bromley Mytime is proud to have been the catalyst for this project and thank the Football Foundation, London Borough of Bromley and Darrick Wood School for their support and efforts.
“Bromley Mytime is continually looking to develop and improve the facilities and services offered to customers. The floodlights will add a new dimension to this already burgeoning centre and provide sporting opportunities for the local community.”
Debbie Arnold, centre manager, said: "The centre has rapidly developed under Bromley Mytime, playing a key role in offering sports and leisure opportunities to the local community.
“These floodlights will complement our extensive sports and pool programme and increase provision for clubs." Details: www.bromleymytime.org.uk
