New sports therapy team at the Forum
Tees Active Sports Academy and the public of Teesside have a new team of Sports Therapists at Billingham Forum to provide top class treatment to athletes competing at national and international level or members of the public who have a musculoskeletal problem that is causing them a problem in the everyday life.
The therapists will be providing extensive cover with their clinic open six days a week.
Sara Cox, Nik Dark and Denis Whitton are part of Teesside Sports Injury Centre who operate at the newly refurbished Billingham Forum. They are all BSc (Honours) graduates of Teesside University's Sports Therapy course and are already providing treatment for Academy athletes.
Sara Cox, who has already managed a successful Sports Injury Clinic, said: "The prospect of working at the Forum is tremendously exciting and all the team have been impressed with the clinic which is sited adjacent to the busy atrium within the Forum. The clinic's clients, under our guidance, will be able to access the Forum's superb fitness facilities, so we can ensure they receive not only the best treatment but a comprehensive rehabilitation and strengthening programme that will get them back to full fitness."
Fellow therapists Nik Dark added: "Working with the Academy athletes is incredibly varied as one day you will be treating a squash player's ankle and the next day working on a white water kayaker's shoulder so there is never a dull day."
