New £150,000 skate park for Shoreham
A new £150,000 skate park is set to open at the Ham Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, after Adur District Council (ADC) appointed Blakedown Landscapes to build the facility.
Spectrum Skatepark Creations , the Canadian skate park development company, will supervise the construction of the new facility, which is expected to get underway on 5 August and is scheduled to be completed by the end of October. Plans for the skate park were first drawn up in 2007 after local skaters approached the council to provide the facility as part of ADC's bid to secure Lottery cash. Funding is also being provided by Viridor, one of the UK's leading resource and waste management companies.
The skate park, which has been designed with the help of local skaters, will include a 'deep bowl' and a 'street course'.
