Nuffield revenues remain steady
Healthcare and wellbeing charity Nuffield Health recorded revenues of £546m during 2010-11, despite experiencing a period that it described "a year of tough economic challenges".
EBITDA over the same period improved by 4 per cent to £68.5m and the charity broke even at net surplus level.
Nuffield currently operates more than 200 consumer and corporate fitness and wellbeing centres as well as 31 hospitals.
In the corporate fitness and wellbeing market, the acquisition of Bladerunner boosted Nuffield's portfolio to 180 corporate fitness sites, securing its position as the leading provider of embedded wellbeing services for UK businesses.
Elsewhere, the purchase of Mythbreaker means that it now also has a technology platform from which to offer its corporate and individual clients nutritional monitoring and advice.
The number of Nuffield Health integrated centres for fitness and wellbeing were increased with five full service centres established in Aberdeen, St Albans, Bromley, Covent Garden and Stoke Poges.
With two more health suites opened in the first half of 2011 (Crawley and Paddington), this brings the total number of fitness facilities offering fully integrated clinical services to 14.
