Official launch of 100th IFI site
The 100th Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) site has been officially launched at Rushcliffe Arena in Nottingham, following a recent £30,000 upgrade.
In addition to refurbishing the gym, which has been equipped by Cybex, the site features improved signage, door access, lighting and changing areas. It also offers indoor bowling and a soft play area.
Hillsborough Leisure Centre in Sheffield has also recently been awarded IFI accreditation.
The IFI has reported that 12 per cent of all new inductions at IFI facilities are delivered to people with disabilities. It will continue launching sites in the new year, with all the planned 150 centres expected to be operational by March 2006.
