Based in parks across London, Outdoor Extreme involves group exercise classes focused around beer kegs, kettlebells, wheelbarrows, ropes and sand bags.

The concept has been launched by Optimal Life Fitness, a London-based company founded last year by strength and conditioning coach BJ Rule and personal trainer Tommy Matthews.

Classes, which are designed to be tailored to each individual’s needs, last one hour and run three times a week at each site, including Highbury Fields, Wandsworth Common and Wimbledon Common.

Later this year, Optimal Life Fitness plans to introduce an Outdoor Extreme qualification for fitness instructors. Details: www.optimallifefitness.com
