Pemberton Centre launches Shokk gym
The Pemberton Centre in Rushden has introduced a Shokk Gym as part of an extension of its existing facilities.
Supported by East Northamptonshire Council and the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI), the facility is designed exclusively for eight- to 16-year-olds and is the county’s first for young people.
Pemberton Centre is operated by Cultural Community Partnerships (CCP) and was recently accredited as an IFI site, aiming to attract both younger and disabled people to the site.
The IFI accreditation and Shokk gym are part of the development of the centre’s new Aspirations gym.
Craig McAteer, chief executive of CCP, said: “The launch of the Aspirations gym as an accredited IFI site will provide all sections of the adult community with the opportunity to increase their general health and wellbeing.”
“The Shokk gym is a unique and exciting development specifically for young people which will hopefully encourage them to keep active.” Details: www.culturalcommunitypartnerships.org.uk
