Hospitality consulting and intelligence firm HVS* has appointed Peter Anderson as a managing director and wellness practice leader within the Americas region.

Rod Clough, president of HVS Americas, commented: “We’re delighted to have Peter join our organisation. Lifestyle and wellness are two growing segments in hospitality and we expect this trend to continue.

“Peter has evaluated hotels and resorts globally that have high-touch service standards and lifestyle wellbeing amenities. This expertise – together with his three decades of experience – fits very well with our HVS brand.”

A seasoned wellness, hospitality and leisure executive, Anderson has assisted with the development and programming for resorts, hotels and spa/lifestyle communities. His expertise includes developing strategic operating plans, renovation programmes and branding strategies ultimately resulting in enhanced operations and stakeholder profitability.

Anderson has conducted engagements where wellness components have enhanced property value by as much as 40 per cent.

HVS says his knowledge will help it offer its hospitality clients wellness solutions that are designed to engage and delight customers while ensuring they’re fiscally sound investments.

Anderson’s areas of speciality also include market studies and valuations, along with strategic operating plans, renovations, asset repositioning and brand messaging. He evaluates industry trends and related revenue sources and translates this into economically viable projects for his clients.

While Anderson is based in Los Angeles, his work is global and has seen him involved with the following properties:

• Dubai Health Care City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.• HADI Wellness Center, Kuwait City, Kuwait.

• The Phoenician Center for Well Being, Scottsdale, Arizona.• Bachmann Springs, Tombstone, Arizona.

• Hotel Bel Air Resort and Spa, Bel Air, California.• Los Angeles Athletic Club, Los Angeles, California.

• The Ridge, an Immersive Wellness Resort, Idyllwild, California.• The St. Julien Resort, Boulder, Colorado.

Anderson is a faculty member at the Collins School of Hospitality Management and a member in good standing of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants. He also holds a Master of Professional Studies in Hotel Administration degree from Cornell University.
