The organisers of Piscina & Wellness Barcelona have created a 350sq m (3,767sq ft) wellness centre to showcase key equipment, products, facilities and materials for the spa industry here at the trade show.

The wellness centre includes a staffed reservation desk, changing room, five treatment rooms, a relaxation area, and water facilities. Treatment rooms are staffed by therapists from Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, who demonstrate massage techniques on models. The models also populate the water areas, giving the entire wellness centre the feel of a fully-functioning spa.

The wellness centre aims to be a case study of economically, functionally and environmentally sustainable wellness, organisers said, and to provide ideas and solutions in design, management and marketing.
