Plans unveiled for new Manchester Science Gallery
Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry has revealed the design plans and content of its new Manchester Science Gallery.
Due to open in April 2004, ‘Manchester Science, Discoveries that Changed the World’, will tell stories of achievement, endeavour and discovery through both past and present Manchester scientists.
Features of the new gallery will include Holodecks – audio-visual presentations on the city’s most important scientists – and Peppers Ghost, 3D moving scenes of the city over the last 200 years.
Also on offer will be Science Today and Tomorrow – showing off the best science and scientists in Manchester today – and World and Media Timelines, the Manchester Science story set against an unashamedly Manchester-slanted timeline showing the most important scientific events of the last 200 years.
