Premier Inn debuts in India
Budget hotel brand Premier Inn has launched its first hotel in India and announced plans to open a further nine hotels in the sub-continent over the next five years.
Premier Inn Bangalore offers 105 rooms, a multi-cuisine restaurant, bar, gymnasium and a conference room. The new opening is to be followed by hotels in Delhi next year and in Pune in 2011. Patrick Dempsey, managing director of Premier Inn UK, said: "India represents one of the fastest growing economies in the world today and we are confident that Premier Inn's proposition will attract both business and leisure travellers alike."
The company's launch in India comes 18 months after it opened its first international hotel in Dubai. Premier Inn Dubai now has two hotels, with a third site scheduled to open in December 2009.
