Premier Software has launched a free, cloud-based booking system specifically for the hair and beauty industry.

The Salonlite software system is available securely in the cloud for smaller spa and salon or independent operators looking for a more efficient and cost-effective scheduling system, with integrated web booking features. Launching Salonlite, Premier Software MD, Robert Miles, said: "Improving online access, for internal and external use, should be a key focus for spa and salon businesses to ensure they keep up with the technology-driven market place."

The new tool has been designed as a quick and user-friendly way to ensure optimum booking time is managed. Multiple users can be logged on, whether in-house or remotely via a laptop or mobile device with internet access and they system has been optimised for use on the iPad.

The scheduling system shows staff columns, full appointment menu, length of each service, start and finish time and price. A function to record live appointment details such as arrived, completed or no-show informs staff if there have been any cancellations for last minute bookings. Salonlite also has a set of industry standard reports. Miles added: "It is our plan to launch this service into several other territories including Australia, South Africa and Brazil within the next twelve months. Once we can assess its impact on the market, we then can begin to implement other features, such as the facility to book via Facebook and also promote and manage special offers and deals directly or through sites such as Groupon."

Potential users should visit www.salonlite.com to register. All users will also receive a free listing on Yapps.com, a spa- and salon-specific online directory and marketing tool designed to drive clients directly to the appointment book. The service is free and operates in real time.
