Professionalising the fitness industry in Wales
The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) has held its third convention in Wales.
More than 160 delegates attended on 31 January to hear key-note speeches by Mark Bennett, Conditioning Coach for the Welsh Rugby Union and Dr Simon Williams from the University of Glamorgan. REPs Registrar Jean-Ann Marnoch, the Welsh Assembly Government and the FIA also made presentations.
The day also included a choice of 12 educational workshops presented by training providers and partners, plus three sessions focusing on management in the fitness industry provided by the FIA. Further conventions, which can earn members up to four CPD points, are planned for Scotland and Leeds.
REPs Registrar Jean-Ann Marnoch said: "The support from our Welsh members was overwhelming and I'm sure the response for our other conventions will be just as great. "We love to get out and about and meet our members, their enthusiasm for the industry and its continued professionalisation is a true inspiration to us."
Further details of up and coming conventions will be published in the REPs fortnightly e-zine.
