Pubs have 'huge part to play' during Games
London mayor Boris Johnson has told delegates at a conference hosted by the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) that pubs have a "huge part to play" during the Olympics.
Senior representatives gathered at Brewers' Hall in London as part of the event, with issues such as logistical challenges facing the industry during the Games up for discussion.
In a message to the event, Johnson said: "[Pubs will make] sure the millions of visitors and Londoners heading out to enjoy themselves have a fantastic time throughout the Games."
BBPA chief executive Brigid Simmonds added: "We must work together to overcome the inevitable difficulties, and maximise the potential for increased trade, ensuring that all of our customers receive the high level of service they expect from our pubs."
