Punch pours 21 new beers into its pubs
The Punch Pub Company is introducing a trial range of international and organic bottled beers, focussing on 1,000 leased and tenanted outlets in the south east. The range will include a choice of Japanese beers, an additive free, Soil Association accredited organic beer and beers from Belgium, Spain, Thailand and New Zealand. Head of marketing, Geoff Brown, says the company has responded to the changing requirements of the consumer: Pubs are now being asked to appeal to a very discerning customer, who has a much wider global awareness of food and drink and is constantly looking for new and innovative products to try. Punch says the introduction of organic beers has also been prompted by a growing consumer trend. Demand for organic products has increased by 55 per cent in the last year according to The Soil Association. Lichfield based, The Punch Pub Company, is the largest pub operator in the UK with more than 4,200 leased and tenanted outlets.
