Report deals blow to fresh Tropicana plans
A report by property consultant DTZ has dealt a blow to fresh plans for the redevelopment of the 75-year-old Tropicana building on the Weston-super-Mare seafront in Somerset.
Trop (WsM) is behind the latest bid to bring the historic leisure complex back into use, but the report said the proposals had been based on "a number of uncertainties".
DTZ also said there was an "over-reliance" on grant funding that may not be applicable to the scheme, as well as a "significant under-estimate" of the redevelopment costs involved.
North Somerset Council is seeking to demolish the complex following the failure of a range of scheme designed to revitalise the Tropicana site over a number of years.
