Revamped Brymbo Pool reopened
Parts of a former steelworks site and a reservoir in the village of Brymbo, near Wrexham, North Wales, have been transformed into a new parkland area and fishing pool for the local community.
New footpaths have been created in the area around Brymbo Pool, while gates and angling platforms for people with disabilities have been installed as part of the £20,000 scheme. Environment Agency Wales (EAW) and the Welsh Assembly Government has funded the work, along with contributions from Wrexham County Borough Council, Brymbo Communuty Council, Broughton Partnership Board and the West Wrexham Partnership.
EAW North Wales area manager, David Edwell, said: "We want to enhance the social and economic benefits to communities from angling, provide more opportunities to fish, enable more people to go fishing and for our fisheries to perform better. The developments at Brymbo help us with all of this."
