Revamped park for Rugby residents
Caldecott Park in Rugby has reopened following a £1.4m refurbishment, thanks to an award from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The eight-month landscaping project has provided residents with a multisports area designed for football and basketball, two new play areas, the reinstallation of a water feature and a statue, a new tree-lined entrance, improved park furniture and railings, as well as a new café created from a Victorian toolshed.
A new ranger will also be based in the park.
Heather Timms, portfolio holder for the sustainable environment at Rugby Borough Council, said: "The park has changed dramatically over the past year, and with the help of Rugby children we've been able to create a park the whole borough can be proud of.
"I know people are already enjoying the wonderful facilities available in the park."
