SEETB to boost vital Belgian trade
The South East England Tourist Board (SEETB) is organising a European group travel trade exhibition next month in the Belgian city of Ghent to drum up visitors to the region.
More than 2,000 delegates are expected to visit the Ghent International Congress Centre during the 26 and 27 October for what SEETB sees as a vital marketing opportunity to travel trade and group organisers.
SEETB marketing director, Lynn Redgrave, says the event is important as over one million Belgians visit Britain every year: It is particularly important that we recover lost ground cause by foot and mouth in one of our key markets. The sector has been strongly affected by the disease, but in recent weeks, the BTA Brussels office has been receiving near normal enquiry levels.
Now in its fifth year, the Kortweg/l'Escapade exhibition is expected to generate over £500,000 of new business for exhibitors.
