SHOKK U18’s Youth Gym opens in Rochdale
Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council has opened a new interactive SHOKK facility for young people at Littleborough Leisure Centre.
The SHOKK U18’s Youth Gym features a SHOKK multiplayer dance mat system, as well as cardiovascular and resistance equipment, for eight to 18 year olds.
Kieran Murphy, marketing director at SHOKK, said: “Walking into the area at Littleborough will provide a unique experience; essentially, it’s a space designed with young people in mind – somewhere they can identify with and a place they’ll want to hang out.”
The Learners and Young People Service and Youth Empowerment Team supported the development, which was funded by the Youth Capital Fund alongside the leisure centre’s operator Link4Life.
Craig McAteer, Link4Life managing director, added: “The SHOKK gym will support the other sporting and activity programmes we are running and is planned to be one of three youth gyms we will be opening over the coming year.”
