Six properties closed by London and Edinburgh administrators
Six hotels and managed pubs which were part of the privately-owned hotel and pub group London & Edinburgh Swallow Group (L&ESG) have been closed.
L&ESG went into administration in mid-September and appointed Ernst & Young to conduct a review of the business.
The group comprises Swallow Hotels, London & Edinburgh Inns, Newlord, React Inns and The Gourmet Pub Company.
The sites closed are Killin Hotel in Perthshire, The Swallow George in Piercebridge, Barns House in Irvine, City Gate in Norwich, The Waterloo Hotel in Blackpool and Village Glasgow in Scotland. Around 120 jobs will be lost due to the closures.
Joint administrator Angela Swarbrick said: “It is unfortunate that, despite negotiations with interested parties, it ha not been possible to conclude a sale of these hotels and pubs to secure their long-term future. Regretfully, we are no longer able to continue trading the sites affected.”
L&ESG has 671 properties across the group in the UK, with more than 7,000 employees.
