SkillsActive unveils first Level 4 qualification
The first unit to be developed at level 4 has been unveiled in the subject of coronary heart disease.
SkillsActive, the Sector Skills Council, has been working with a number of key organisations to produce a new national occupational standard for exercise instructors working with patients who have coronary heart disease, and this will be used in the future to benchmark existing and new qualifications and training programmes in this area.
The unit is provisionally titled: “CHD1 Design, agree and adapt a physical activity programme with patients/ clients with coronary heart disease”.
This is the first of a range of units which will be developed at Level 4 in specific medical conditions and will form the new Level 4 qualification for the Register of Exercise Professionals.
For more information on the consultation of this new unit contact Ben Gittus at SkillsActive, before Friday 10 March 2006 at: [email protected]
