Smith and Wesson Museum opens to public
Smith & Wesson, the firearms manufacturer, has opened its museum at the company headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts, US, to the public.
The museum features more than a hundred Smith & Wesson guns, including the actual .44 Magnum used in the Dirty Harry films.
Exhibits also include the “No thing of importance can be done without effort” display, which follows the history of the company, as well as a demonstration of the manufacturing process of one of the company’s revolvers.
Tom Taylor, Smith & Wesson’s vice president of marketing, said: “The exhibits inside the museum demonstrate our company’s commitment to preserving its heritage. We are excited to be able to share the history of our company with people.”
The museum originally opened in June last year, but was only available to groups by appointment only. Details: www.smith-wesson.com
