Southampton unveils new diving facility for Olympic hopefuls
A new dry-land diving studio has been unveiled at The Quays swimming and diving centre in Southampton.
The studio features new springboards and trampolines and improved harness and landing facilities, allowing divers of all skill levels to perfect their skills alongside training in the pool.
Richard Sheath, chair of the Southampton Diving Academy, said: "The opening of this new facility is an important step in maintaining Southampton and The Quays as a High Performance Centre for British Diving."
The opening ceremony for the new studio took place during the 10th Annual Southampton Invitational Diving Competition and was attended by members of Southampton Diving Academy, including Olympic hopefuls Peter Waterfield, Max Brick and Chris Mears with their coach Lindsey Fraser.
