The Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) plans to refocus its spa development and concepts and following the appointment of Keith Burnet as vice president of its spa and fitness sector.

Based out of the Hilton International Operations Centre in Watford, UK, Burnet will be responsible for the introduction and development of new spas within the group as well as all hotel-based fitness centres.

Burnet will also be responsible for co-ordinating partnerships with third parties and establishing operational, brand and design standards.

With 15 years of industry experience, Burnet was latterly the managing director of Hilton health club chain LivingWell prior to the recent sale of the group’s standalone clubs.

He said: “Spa and fitness are a key part of Hilton’s future strategy, a facet of the business that has huge potential within the Hilton family of brands.

“Moreover, health, fitness and general wellbeing is a high priority for our guests. Hilton has very exciting growth plans over the next 10 years and running parallel with this will be an exciting fitness and spa concept.”

Hilton currently has more than 150 spa and fitness facilities across its international hotels and resorts portfolio.
