Spanish wellness resort combines spa, medicine and haute cuisine
AMA Andalusia Health Resort, a new 42-bedroom property in Andalusia, Spain, combines a spa, medical programme and haute cuisine.
The resort offers everything from a two-day detox break to a 21-day medical recovery programme, and creates personalised wellness, beauty and medical experiences. Each visit begins with an in-depth consultation to create a bespoke treatment schedule.
The resort includes a 1,200sq m (12,917sq ft) sq2 Spa & Health Centre with a steam bath, dry and infrared sauna, foot bath, indoor whirlpool, Scottish shower and ice machine, as well as areas for manicures, pedicures, waxing and hairdressing.
Each guest receives physical and nutritional plans, using natural, integrative medicine with a holistic approach. The resort’s aim is to find the balance between physical, social and mental levels for guests to improve their overall life quality and general happiness, the company said.
In addition to traditional facials and massages, AMA Andalusia offers cutting-edge treatments such as skin micro-needling, PDO thread lift, and platelet-rich plasma – which enriches the patient’s plasma with platelets to release protein growth factors vital for tissue regeneration, tissue repair and wound healing.
The resort also features a heated pool, Olympic-sized pool, outdoor pool and hydrotherapy pool – all of which are salt water – as well as a hammam.
AMA Andalusia’s focus on nutrition comes with the help of head chef Javier Rebollo, formerly of Spanish Michelin 3-star restaurant El Bulli, who oversees cuisine at the two on-site restaurants.
