The 12th annual SportAccord Convention has opened for business in the resort town of Belek in Turkey.

Held at the Susesi Convention Centre, the annual event attracts more than 2,500 leading representatives of the global sport industry and is organised by SportAccord, the umbrella organisation for all international sport federations.

The event has been designed as an opportunity for leaders in the global sports industry to come together in an exclusive and authoritative networking environment, to build relationships, share knowledge and develop ideas that will benefit the community.

The convention includes a two-day conference programme, which this year has been entitled "Sport's New Frontier".

Brian Cookson, the recently elected president of the world cycling federation UCI, will deliver a key note speech today (8 April) while a number of seminars will tackle topics ranging from leadership and youth sport to integrity within sport.
