Stadiums planned all across the country, but Wembley's future still uncertain

While plans for Wembley Stadium still hang in the air, other cities across the UK are striding ahead with new sporting venues, writes The Times.

Liverpool FC has applied for planning permission to build a new £70m, 55,000-seat stadium on Stanley Park - just a hundred yards from its current location.

Arsenal received planning permission last year for a 60,000-seat stadium half a mile from Highbury, and Leeds United, Everton and Spurs are also intending to relocate.
