Street Snooker to launch in Hertfordshire
Street Snooker - a new initiative devised by Playinnovation - is to have its national launch in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, on 22 February.
The concept will see football and snooker combined to provide an outdoor kick wall game for all ages and abilities and will be unveiled at the town's Moneyhole Lane playing fields. Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (WHBC) will hold an event to mark the launch, with Olympian Gail Emms and world football freestyle champion John Farnworth in attendance.
Meanwhile, a working group established by Scarborough Borough Council has started its search for an old coble fishing boat to provide the centrepiece of a new play area. Castle Dykes play area next to Scarborough Castle is to undergo a major revamp in spring, and a vessel is being sought to provide a pirate ship at the heart of the facility.
