Sun shining on Parkdean
UK holiday park operator, Parkdean Holidays, has issued a trading update reporting a "highly satisfactory summer" at all locations.
Both Sea Acres and White Acres, the holiday parks acquired at the beginning of May, have performed well according to Parkdean.
Like for like holiday hire revenue for company owned accommodation is up 14.3 per cent on last year, driven by investment in new caravans and further growth in spring and autumn short breaks.
The company continues to seek new acquisitions and has obtained planning consent for 70 additional static pitches at Newquay Holiday Park.
It intends to develop these during the winter in readiness for the 2004 season. Funding for new purchases will be available through a £32.9m banking facility.
Parkdean also revealed that it will be moving to larger business premises in Gosforth Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, in order to handle "increased volumes of direct holiday sales".
The company’s full year results to 31 October will be announced in January 2004. Details: www.parkdeanholidays.co.uk
