TYF offloads Welsh 'eco hotel'
TYF Activity and Education Group has sold the Twr-y-Felin Hotel in Pembrokeshire, Wales, to luxury hotel operator Retreats Group for an undisclosed sum.
The Grade II-listed hotel is located in a former corn mill within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and boasts 12 bedrooms, a separate four bedroom cottage and a 26-cover dining room.
TYF Activity opened the hotel in November 2007 and marketed the site as Wales' first 'organic hotel'. TYF had secured organic certification from the Welsh Organic Scheme for the site and at the time of the official opening vowed to pursue ethical buying practices.
While operated by TYF, the hotel run on electricity from renewable sources and used locally sourced producers for its food offering.
Christie + Co acted on behalf of TYF on securing the deal.
The Retreats Group operates and manages properties held by The Retreats Group Trust. The Trust was set up to find and acquire historical buildings and restore them as exclusive luxury hotels and retreats to ensure a new life for them.
