Tarkett strikes gold at Olympics
Flooring company Tarkett struck gold in Athens recently by providing more than 120,000sq m of products for the Olympic Games.
A range of floorings, which included Veneto Linoleum, was supplied for events such as the weightlifting, boxing, beach volleyball, basketball, tennis, hockey, handball, equestrianism, fencing and shooting.
Elsewhere, the company’s products were used in the Olympic stadium, the press centre and the Olympic Village itself, where competitors and officials were walking on about 40,000sq m of Tapiflex and Somplan vinyls and Titan Safe.T floor.
To win the contract, Tarkett – which specialises in hardwood, cushioned vinyl, commercial vinyl flooring, linoleum, carpet tiles and laminates – had to make mock-up rooms for every venue.
