Teambuilding prepares students for exam
Thirteen pupils from St Michael's in Stockton-on-Tees took part in a day's team-building activities last month at Castlegate Quay Watersports Centre, in preparation for their GCSE RE exam.
The water-based activities on the River Tees were designed to test their interpersonal, communication and leaderships skills and were followed by a revision session for the forthcoming RE exam.
Sara Crawshaw, head of RE at St Michael's, said: "The day was highly successful, pupils were well motivated and engaged throughout the day. They enjoyed learning outside of the classroom and have asked to do more activities that bring them new and exciting opportunities.
"It has been a fantastic way to make the RE curriculum fun and accessible, encouraging tolerance, understanding, cooperation and collaboration.
"We hope to do more activities like this to make RE even more relevant to all pupils."
Castlegate Quay Watersports Centre is operated by sports trust Tees Active.
