Tegelaars to direct development of FIA

Harm Tegelaars, CEO of Cannons health clubs, has been appointed vice chair of the Fitness Industry Association (FIA) as part of an operational restructure of the organisation.

Following a strategic review entitled Creating a Larger Footprint, the FIA has been split into three distinct areas of operation: commercial services, membership services and vanguard and media.

Tegelaars was one of the original founders of the FIA and will now direct its development, ensuring the new structure keeps its focus on its core principles and objectives.

“The FIA has grown significantly over the past five years, but this restructure will really allow the association to grow into an institution that health and fitness club operators cannot afford to ignore,” he said.

“The FIA board is confident that these changes will help strengthen the industry association and truly make it a force to be reckoned with.”
