Thanet Council is putting together a directory of sports clubs and organisations in the area around the Kent town.
The information is being compiled by the council’s new sports development officer, Martyn Cassell, and will be put online so that the groups can keep up to date with news on funding, education for coaches and club development.
Cassell said: “My aim is to help increase participation in sport in Thanet and the first step is to get together all the details of existing sports clubs and organisations, so that we can keep them updated about how the council can help them.”
“Once the directory is put together, then we can look at creating a network of clubs and organisations to give them voice in the development of sport in Thanet.” Details: www.thanet.gov.uk
