Third Space gears up for launch at iconic location, The Whiteley, London, with three more locations in the pipeline
Third Space has unveiled further details of its 14th location, The Whiteley, which opens near Hyde Park in London on 12 December.
The new club will be located in the three-storey, Grade II-listed, former department store and have design sympathetic to the architecture, including floor to ceiling windows, terrazzo floors and walnut flooring in the members’ lounge. There will also be a bespoke glazed wrapped staircase.
Facilities in the club will include an extensive gym equipped with Woodway treadmills, functional rigs and a three-lane sled track; free weight spaces and dedicated stretch and recovery zones with Hyperice Hypervolts, Hypershere, Normatec Recovery Boots and Vyper Vibrating Foam Rollers.
There will be five studios for group exercise classes; combat and martial art classes and indoor cycling. The reformer Pilates studio and mind and body studio both feature illuminating stone walls and large windows.
The Recovery Spa will feature an 18-metre pool and hydrotherapy pool with underwater and lie down massage jets; a Finnish Loyly sauna and steamroom, contrast therapy and a bespoke ice bath ranging from 4-8 degrees celsius.
Third Space CEO, Colin Waggett, says: “We’re absolutely delighted to play a part in the redevelopment of The Whiteley. It felt right that our only club opening for 2025 is immersed within an already iconic establishment, helping to bring like-minded communities together in an oasis within the heart of the city.
“Opening Third Space in The Whiteley allowed us to maximise on our goals of helping Londoners to embed their fitness routine into their everyday lives and provide access to those in West London with our world class facilities.”
Foster + Partners are the architects for the overall redevelopment of The Whiteley and Tonik Associates designed the interior club fitout.
Alongside Third Space the building will include a Six Senses Hotel – the first in the UK as well as the first Six Senses Place urban wellness club and Six Senses Residences. There will also be a number of F&B tenants.
Earlier this week Third Space announced it had raised further funds for its London rollout. New sites in the pipeline include Oxford Street, Queen’s Park and Chelsea.
