Tom's Companies to be smoke free by July
Luxury hotel and restaurant group, Tom's Companies, is to introduce a no-smoking policy in its venues throughout the north-east.
From 1 July, smoking will be banned at the group's hotels, Seaham Hall and Serenity Spa in County Durham and The Samling in Cumbria as well as at its two central Newcastle restaurants, Fisherman's Lodge and Treacle Moon.
Chair of Tom's Companies, Tom Maxfield, said: "I know that the majority of our customers will welcome this as a positive step forward."
"We've been watching as the smoking bans in Ireland and Scotland have come into effect and the change has been a positive one without any of the side effects that many heralded before it was introduced,” added Debrah Dhugga, group commercial director. Details: www.tomscompanies.com
