Von Essen to open Battersea hotel
UK-based private hotel group Von Essen has announced plans to open a new riverside hotel at Battersea, London.
The seven-floor boutique property will comprise 70 bedrooms; a 200-seat rooftop restaurant with 360-degree views of Battersea Reach; a subterranean spa and a business suite.
Von Essen?s creative director and architect Andrew Onraet will design the interior.
The hotel group acquired the land from Weston for £50m, and the deal includes the existing London Heliport, which will be operated as a joint venture with von Essen?s aviation partner PremiAir ? part of the Sir Robert McAlpine Group, which already manages and operates von Essen?s fleet of helicopter and jets.
Andrew Davis, chair of von Essen, said: ?The exclusive new development at London?s Heliport heralds an exciting and important stage in our expansion. We will create world-class facilities that will provide high-end users with the luxury and levels of convenience which are lacking at the moment.? Details: www.vonessenhotels.com
