Whitbread to extend meeting room concept
Whitbread Group is to invest £10m in extending the trial of its Touchbase meeting centres.
The company currently has three pilot sites - in Hemel Hempstead, Mansfield and Swindon - and plans to add a further 15.
Touchbase was developed and launched in 2001 by Whitbread's Travel Inn division and offers purpose-built, fully-equipped meeting rooms and business lounges.
The development is the result of customer research which found 80 per cent of customers would be highly likely to return to Touchbase and 85 per cent said they would recommend it.
Each new site will be built on Whitbread land, utilising the existing Whitbread estate.
The next Touchbase, with 18 meeting rooms, will open at the end of April at Heathrow airport, adjacent to the Heathrow Travel Inn. Details: www.letstouchbase.co.uk
