William Hill reports Q4 revenue boost
Bookmaker William Hill has posted a 6 per cent increase in group net revenue in the 13 weeks ending 29 December 2009, compared with the same period for the previous year.
The company, which is scheduled to release its preliminary results for 2009 on 26 February, said that it expects to post total group net revenue for the full year to have increased by around 4 per cent, compared with 2008. Group chair Charles Scott has also revealed that he intends to step down from the position by the end of 2010, having joined the company as a director in 1999 before being appointed chair in 2004.
Scott said: "I have served on the board since before William Hill's flotation in 2002 and as chair for the last six years. The business is in excellent shape. I plan to step down when a suitable replacement has been found which I expect to be during the coming year."
