Eli Roth’s killer clown to ‘haunt guests for the rest of their lives’ at Universal Hollywood scarefest
eli roth, the director of horror hits Cabin Fever and Hostel, is returning to collaborate on halloween Horror Nights.
Universal Studios Hollywood says it will launch an “all-new” Terror Tram experience this scary season, with Roth overseeing the creative direction.
Working with his co-founded digital studio Crypt TV, Roth has created a twisted serial-killing clown who’s loose in the neighbourhood.
Visitors to the special events at the theme park should be aware that the depraved clown, nicknamed Hollywood Harry, is not alone – he’s recruiting a string of outcast former clowns and they’re killing Studio Tour guides and visitors alike.
“We wanted to completely fabricate an original story that brings together our absolute freakiest, scariest most disturbing ideas,” said Roth. “The Halloween Horror Nights team is the best in the business. Their production and execution is unmatched and I know this Terror Tram experience will blow away all expectations and haunt guests for the rest of their lives.”
The special nights at Universal Studios Hollywood launch on 16 September. Meanwhile, sister park Universal Orlando is offering a VR horror experience, The Repository, as well as a Krampus-themed maze.
In 2011, Roth brought Hostel: Hunting Season to Universal Studios Hollywood, where guests journeyed to a torture factory inspired by the director's hit horror franchise.
