Omni spa director missing after Hurricane Harvey
jill renick, spa director at the omni houston Hotel in Texas, has been missing since Sunday (27 August) amid the aftermath of hurricane harvey and the floods that have devastated Houston.
Renick is said to have been helping evacuate guests from the hotel amid rising floodwaters when she disappeared; according to local television station KHOU, she may have been trapped in an elevator.
The hotel reportedly saw flood waters of 20 feet (6 metres) and will not reopen until October.
Renick has worked at the Mokara Spa at the Omni for two years and is an ISPA member.
“She was in the line of duty, selflessly serving guests when she disappeared,” said ISPA president Lynne McNees. “Jill’s ISPA community is praying for her and her family.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help fund rescue efforts for Renick. If you’d like to contribute, please click here.
