sporta supports Social Enterprise Day
sporta members are supporting Social Enterprise Day this month with a number of activities designed to raise awareness of their roles within local communities.
It is hoped the events will help people to understand the social and environmental aims of cultural and leisure trusts and highlight how funds are ploughed back into the community.
Social Enterprise Day on 19 November was originally launched in 2004 as part of Enerprise Week to create an opportunity for social enterprises to engage with their local communities and raise general awareness of social enterprises and what they do.
However, last year Enterprise Week became part of wider global movement - Global Entrepreneurship Week, which took place in 77 countries.
Global Entrepreneurship Week UK is run by Enterprise UK, which introduces young people to social enterprises and aims to inspire them to use enterprising ideas for social and environmental change.
